TOMBRACK NS

The teachers, board of management and pupils of Tombrack NS would like to thank everyone who supported their recent fundraiser­s. Your help and generosity is greatly appreciate­d. We would also like to thank the members of the all-Ireland Hurling team of 1996 who came to hurl at our official opening of the astroturf pitch. Thanks to Liam Spratt for his great commentary, to James Ownes for refereeing the match, to the Ballindagg­in Pipe Band, to Michael Darcy and Caroline Doyle for their beautiful singing. Thanks also to the parents for the refreshmen­ts, the stewards and anyone who helped out on the night.

We would like to wish our sixth class pupils every success in their future.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new principal Mr Bobby Kenny, who will start in the school on Monday, September 3.

We wish Mrs Doyle a very happy and healthy retirement and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to her for her tireless work and commitment during her 15 years in Tombrack NS.

A BIG THANK YOU

St Edan’s Parish would like to talk all supported the recent vintage and model event on Sunday, June 23. A great day was had by everyone in the blazing sunshine. A big thank you to all supported this event.

ACTIVE RETIREMENT

A day trip to Johstown Castle has been arranged for Wednesday, July 11, leaving Ferns Church car park at 11.00, travelling by coach. We look forward to viewing the Castle’s ornamental gardens, the Irish Agricultur­al Museum and relaxing in the café. Please contact Colm at 0863866582 if you and/or a friend intend travelling.
