A busy month for Wex­ford Men­tal Health As­so­ci­a­tion

WEX­FORD MEN­TAL Health As­so­ci­a­tion is cel­e­brat­ing its 40th an­niver­sary this year and will host a gala con­cert in St Iberius Church later this month as part of the fes­tiv­i­ties.

The con­cert on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 29 will top off what is set to be a busy month for the as­so­ci­a­tion who will also host a cof­fee morn­ing in their of­fices on Hen­ri­etta Street on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 15 and launch their an­nual art ex­hi­bi­tion on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 19.

The con­cert will fea­ture per­for­mances from the gifted County Wex­ford Youth Choir un­der the di­rec­tion of Emily Red­mond, Stage­fright Choir, and in­di­vid­ual per­for­mances from Stephen Mur­phy, so­pra­nos Pa­tri­cia Gog­gins and Ruth Gal­lagher, Jimi Cullen, Ian Doyle, Tony Carty, and Uileann piper Mark Red­mond. All per­form­ers will be ac­com­pa­nied by Yvonne Col­lier.

Tick­ets for the con­cert are avail­able from the WMHA of­fices on Hen­ri­etta Street, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, as well as from Trax, Al­lied Training, and O’Leary Travel in En­nis­cor­thy. The cof­fee morn­ing on Oc­to­ber 15 will cel­e­brate World Men­tal Health Week and all are in­vited to pop into the of­fices be­tween 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to en­joy cof­fee and a chat.

The an­nual art ex­hi­bi­tion will be opened on Oc­to­ber 19 just be­fore the Opera Fes­ti­val fire­works dis­play. The open­ing will be per­formed by Anne Doyle with guest speaker, Deputy James Browne. The Art ex­hi­bi­tion is open to all am­a­teur artists and art works on dis­play will be for sale. The ex­hi­bi­tion runs from 19 Oc­to­ber daily dur­ing the Opera Fes­ti­val.
