Coláiste Bríde is the fashionable place to be!
THE students took centre stage at Coláiste Bríde recently as they welcomed prospective students and their parents for the school for their open evening. There was a big attendance as potential pupils got the opportunity to check out the facilities at the school and Principal Kiera O’Sullivan decided, who better than to show the guests around that the people who use the school every day themselves.
‘We decided that it should be the students tha show people around,’ she said. ‘
While we’re very proud of our school and facili ties, it’s the students who develop here that we are most proud of and that are our strongest selling point. We had a great crowd and a steady flow on the evening and parents and prospective students got the chance to gain some first hand knowledge
of what to expect at Coláiste Bríde.’
There was plenty for the guests to see and do, with the Junk Kouture fashion show making a particular impression on many. The school has a wonderful reputation in the competition and last year’s transition years were delighted to show off some of their weird and wonderful creations. As well as this, parents and students had the chance to take a look around the Home Economics room, see some experiments in the science room, check out some different cultures at the language rooms, see the range of extra-curricular activities on offer from camogie to yoga and listen to the wonderful singing of the school choir in the music room.
‘We love our school and we feel we showed it off really well on the night,’ Ms O’Sullivan said. ‘We’re most proud of our students here and they are the embodiment of the whole ethos of the school.’
