Fianna Fáil sets up new amalgamated rural cumann
THE Fianna Fáil party has set up a new cumann in Wexford following the amalgamation of the two existing cumanns in Oylegate and Glenbrien.
The meeting to set up the new group took place in the Slaney Inn, in Oylegate.
There was a big crowd in attendance at the meeting and it was well supported by grass roots members and supporters.
Deputy James Browne TD chaired the meeting during which Cathaoirleach of Enniscorthy Municipal District Council, Cllr Willie Kavanagh, was elected chairperson of the new branch.
In addition to local members the meeting was also attended by the party’s joint regional organisers, Eileen Higgins and Cllr Joe Sullivan.
Cllr Kavanagh was also se- lected to contest the forthcoming local elections in May in the newly aligned Kilmuckridge electoral area - which the Oylegate- Glenbrien cumann is now part of.
