-

AFTER 16 years in business the owners of The Baked Potato restaurant have taken the difficult decision to close down.

In an announcement on the restuarant’s Facebook page, owners John and Paula

Murphy said, ‘Over the last few months we have been doing a lot of thinking about the fast pace of life we have been living for the last sixteen years in business.

‘When we first started out in business we had no kids and our business was our life as we thought. Sixteen years later and a young family it is with a very heavy heart we have made the decision not to reopen our doors.

‘We sincerely would like to thank all our wonderful staff our loyal customers and suppliers who have always supported us,’ the couple concluded.

In 2015 the premises moved from Rafter Street to the Old Dublin Road where it remained in operation until Sunday’s announcement.

Reacting to the news, local TD Johnny Mythen said, ‘Sad news. Hoping you will come back sometime in the future. Enjoy your time with your family and friends. That’s very precious too.
