Cham­ber CEO Tony set to step down af­ter 23 years

FINGAL Dublin Cham­ber founder and CEO, Tony Lam­bert is to step down from the Cham­ber af­ter 23 years.

Tony Lam­bert was a found­ing Pres­i­dent of the Fingal Dublin Cham­ber when it started in 1994 and has oc­cu­pied the role of Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer since 2000.

Speak­ing on be­half of the Cham­ber’s Board, Pres­i­dent Guy Thompson thanked Tony for his stew­ard­ship and his tire­less ded­i­ca­tion and com­mit­ment to the Cham­ber dur­ing the past 23 years.d

‘ The Fingal Dublin Cham­ber has grown un­der Tony’s lead­er­ship since it started in 1994. From hum­ble begin­nings, Tony has made an enor­mous con­tri­bu­tion to the suc­cess of Cham­ber which is now the re­gion’s largest busi­ness or­gan­i­sa­tion rep­re­sent­ing al­most 350 mem­bers.

‘His pas­sion, en­ergy and drive has po­si­tioned the Cham­ber as the key lob­by­ing group for busi­ness in Fingal. Fingal Dublin Cham­ber is now a vi­brant, grow­ing, dy­namic and suc­cess­ful cham­ber and we thank Tony most sin­cerely for his con­tri­bu­tion and wish him the very best in his fu­ture projects.’

Paul Reid, Chief Ex­ec­u­tive of Fingal County Coun­cil said: ‘ Tony has made a valu­able con­tri­bu­tion to busi­ness in Fingal over the past 23 years. Like Fingal County Coun­cil, the Cham­ber be­gan in 1994 and both bod­ies have worked closely to­gether ever since to make Fingal a good place to do busi­ness in.

‘ Tony has been ex­tremely pas­sion­ate in his pro­mo­tion of Fingal and its busi­nesses and worked ex­tremely hard to grow the mem­ber­ship of the Cham­ber so it could truly rep­re­sent the county’s busi­ness com­mu­nity. He leaves a won­der­ful legacy and, on be­half of every­body in Fingal County Coun­cil, I would like to wish him the very best in the fu­ture.’

Through­out his ca­reer as Cham­ber CEO, Tony has steered the Cham­ber from eco­nomic boom years to keep­ing it steady dur­ing the re­ces­sion­ary years and nur­tur­ing it back to growth again.

He con­sis­tently de­liv­ered a range of high qual­ity busi­ness break­fasts and evening net­work­ing events.

The highlight of the Cham­ber cal­en­dar is the Fingal Dublin Busi­ness Ex­cel­lence Cor­po­rate Re­spon­si­bil­ity Awards.

The an­nual awards cer­e­mony show­case Fingal as a cen­tre of busi­ness ex­cel­lence with an op­por­tu­nity to cel­e­brate in­no­va­tion, cus­tomer ser­vices, prod­uct de­vel­op­ment, sus­tain­abil­ity and busi­ness lead­er­ship in the Fingal re­gion.

Tony was a key driver in the join­ing to­gether of the D15 Cham­ber with Fingal Dublin Cham­ber which pro­vided a cen­tralised and more con­sol­i­dated ser­vice for mem­bers.

He rep­re­sented a strong voice for the Cham­ber at lo­cal gov­ern­ment level and cham­pi­oned the im­por­tance of Dublin Air­port as a ma­jor eco­nomic hub in North Dublin.

Un­der his di­rec­tion, Tony po­si­tioned the Cham­ber as one of the largest providers of ex­port doc­u­ment ser­vices in the coun­try, of­fer­ing a special one-stop shop ser­vice for a wide range of lead­ing pharma, ma­chin­ery, food and IT ex­port­ing com­pa­nies.

Tony said: ‘I have de­cided to step down form my role as Chief Ex­ec­u­tive of the Fingal Dublin Cham­ber to pur­sue other in­ter­ests in­clud­ing trav­el­ling and busi­ness con­sul­tancy work which I have been putting off due to the ex­cit­ing and won­der­ful work with the Cham­ber.

‘It has been a great hon­our and priv­i­lege to lead the Cham­ber over the years and to meet and work with so many out­stand­ing, in­no­va­tive and creative busi­ness lead­ers.’
