Donabate Distributor Road is ‘well advanced’ says chief exec
THE Donabate Distributor Road which is seen as crucial to the future development of the peninsula and the delivery of a major housing project, is ‘well advanced’ according to Fingal County Council.
Council chief executive, Paul Reid reported last week that ‘ the design of the Donabate Distributor Road is well advanced, with tender documentation being prepared in tandem with the completion of the design element’.
Explaining what happens next, a report from the chief executive stated: ‘A two stage tendering procedure has been adopted for this project. The first stage, Prequalification Competition, commenced in February and the results of this stage will be known mid-May.’
The chief executive’s report added: ‘Following the selection of a number of suitably qualified contractors, the second stage, the tendering for the construction of the Distributor Road will commence.’
The report concluded: ‘It is anticipated that this will be completed in the 3rd quarter 2017 and construction will commence on site by the end of the year.
