Three her­itage sites seek new op­er­a­tor

THE process to bring three of Fingal’s most im­por­tant her­itage at­trac­tions un­der a sin­gle man­age­ment struc­ture is ad­vanc­ing and ten­ders for a sin­gle op­er­a­tor to run Malahide Castle and Gar­dens, New­bridge House and Farm and Swords Castle will be is­sued in mid-May.

The coun­cil in­formed coun­cil­lors the project is on course to have an in­terim op­er­a­tor for the three prop­er­ties in place for Oc­to­ber of this year.

Ul­ti­mately, the coun­cil want to see eight her­itage sites in the county un­der a sin­gle op­er­a­tor know as the Fingal Her­itage Trust and has set a date of 2020 to work to­wards that goal. This in­terim ar­range­ment is aimed at pre­par­ing the prop­er­ties for that tran­si­tion over the next three years.
