Three heritage sites seek new operator
THE process to bring three of Fingal’s most important heritage attractions under a single management structure is advancing and tenders for a single operator to run Malahide Castle and Gardens, Newbridge House and Farm and Swords Castle will be issued in mid-May.
The council informed councillors the project is on course to have an interim operator for the three properties in place for October of this year.
Ultimately, the council want to see eight heritage sites in the county under a single operator know as the Fingal Heritage Trust and has set a date of 2020 to work towards that goal. This interim arrangement is aimed at preparing the properties for that transition over the next three years.
