Local businesses partner for ‘Alzheimer’s Tea Day’ event
A Swords health care company and a local food business combined forces recently for annual Alzheimer’s Tea Day event. Broadmeadow Healtchare was delighted to partner with Gourmet Food Parlour in hosting an Alzheimer’s Tea Day in Swords.
The Tea Day took place at Gourmet Food Parlour, earlier this month and locals were invited to join in to support the many people living in our community living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Broadmeadow Healthcare Group are specialists in the areas of care for the older person and through the Swords-based firm’s consultancy services and operation of Nursing Homes it has seen the alarming increase of the numbers of people suffering from dementia.
In Ireland we have 55,000 people living with dementia and almost 4,000 new cases being diagnosed every year. Members of the Broadmeadow Healthcare team were be on hand to offer advice and guidance in the areas of dementia care on the morning of the Tea Day event at Gourmet Food Parlour in Swords.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland provides specific services, support and advocates for the rights of all people living with Dementia and their carers and families. The Swords event was well supported and the local partners hosting the Tea Day hope the awareness events like that help to raise will make a real difference in the lives of people with dementia.
