The Bleed­ing Pig Cul­tural Fes­ti­val 2017 takes place this week. On Thurs­day, the week­end gets off to a mu­si­cal start with an evening of mu­sic and singing in the Wa­ter­side Ho­tel. ‘Sin­ga­long or Sing-a-song’ will fea­ture the Tower Singing Cir­cle, Smyth’s Crew, the Non­ame Band and lots more. Fri­day sees var­i­ous events in the three pri­mary schools on the penin­sula. On Fri­day evening St. Pa­trick’s RC Church plays host to a Gala Con­cert. The con­cert will boast per­for­mances from, among oth­ers, The Young Dublin Sym­pho­nia, the Lam­bay Singers, and local tra­di­tional mu­si­cian Ea­monn Gall­dubh. Satur­day and Sun­day have full timeta­bles of events. Rang­ing from a Pop-up Plan­e­tar­ium to Per­for­mances and Recita­tions, Ball­room Danc­ing to Walk­ing Tours, and Art & Craft Work­shops to Pup­pet Work­shops there will be some­thing of in­ter­est for ev­ery­one. The fes­ti­val closes on Sun­day from 6.00-9.00pm with an Open Mic event for over-16s in Smyths Pub, Don­abate.
