Traffic blamed on damaged loop
TRAFFIC issues through Portmarnock Village are being blamed on damaged traffic sensor loops in the road that control the signalling of traffic lights.
Cllr Brian Mcdonagh (Lab) asked the council to address the village’s traffic issues and was told by the local authority that ‘a number of loops around the Fingal Area have been damaged following the annual road resurfacing programme’.
The council’s Operations Department said: ‘ There is one loop damaged at the junction of Strand Road and Carrickhill Road following the resurfacing of Carrickhill Road in Portmarnock. This loop has been listed for priority on the list for loop repair.’ The council said the loop would be repaired this Wednesday.
