Traf­fic blamed on dam­aged loop

TRAF­FIC is­sues through Port­marnock Vil­lage are be­ing blamed on dam­aged traf­fic sen­sor loops in the road that con­trol the sig­nalling of traf­fic lights.

Cllr Brian Mcdon­agh (Lab) asked the coun­cil to ad­dress the vil­lage’s traf­fic is­sues and was told by the lo­cal au­thor­ity that ‘a num­ber of loops around the Fin­gal Area have been dam­aged fol­low­ing the an­nual road resur­fac­ing pro­gramme’.

The coun­cil’s Op­er­a­tions De­part­ment said: ‘ There is one loop dam­aged at the junc­tion of Strand Road and Car­rick­hill Road fol­low­ing the resur­fac­ing of Car­rick­hill Road in Port­marnock. This loop has been listed for pri­or­ity on the list for loop re­pair.’ The coun­cil said the loop would be re­paired this Wed­nes­day.
