Dublin North win again
WESTON DUBLIN NORTH 1 2
A GOAL in each half from Declan Brady and Paddy Gahan helped Dublin North make it back to back wins in Division 1.
By manager Gerry Wheeler’s own admission this was a game that would probably have been lost last season when he was in charge of Fingal, but thanks to the recent amalgamation with Swords and St Brendan’s Phoenix Park the newly formed club can now cope with injuries. It was Dublin North who seized the initiative early on, with Shane Dempsey hitting the post in the opening minute before Declan Brady hit a shot just wide.
Brady atoned for that miss ten minutes later as he tapped home a Shane Dempsey cross to give his side the lead. Weston dominated the remainder of the half and continued to pile on the pressure in the second half but, Dublin North sealed victory with ten minutes to go as another Shane Dempsey cross was tapped home at the back post, this time by Paddy Gahan. Weston scored a consolation goal from a short corner routine in the final seconds.
