Man failed to ap­pear on pub­lic or­der charge

A BENCH war­rant was is­sued for the ar­rest of a man who failed to ap­pear be­fore Swords District Court to an­swer pub­lic or­der and road traf­fic of­fences. Thomas Valu­sis (26) is charged with us­ing threat­en­ing and abu­sive be­hav­iour on Ket­tle’s Lane in Swords on Septem­ber 9th.

He is fur­ther charged with fail­ing to give in­for­ma­tion to gar­dai, us­ing a false NCT disc at the Na­tional Show Cen­tre in Swords on the same date.

The de­fen­dant, of Rail­way Road, Clon­grif­fin is also charged with driv­ing with­out in­sur­ance and fail­ing to give in­for­ma­tion at Clon­shaugh Road on the same date.

De­fence bar­ris­ter An­nette Kealy said the de­fen­dant’s so­lic­i­tor rang the de­fen­dant about his court ap­pear­ance but got a for­eign dial tone and no an­swer.

She asked Judge John Chea­tle if he would ad­journ the case in the de­fen­dant’s ab­sence and she has no fur­ther in­struc­tions.

How­ever, in­stead of ad­journ­ing the case Judge Chea­tle is­sued a bench war­rant.
