Man failed to appear on public order charge
A BENCH warrant was issued for the arrest of a man who failed to appear before Swords District Court to answer public order and road traffic offences. Thomas Valusis (26) is charged with using threatening and abusive behaviour on Kettle’s Lane in Swords on September 9th.
He is further charged with failing to give information to gardai, using a false NCT disc at the National Show Centre in Swords on the same date.
The defendant, of Railway Road, Clongriffin is also charged with driving without insurance and failing to give information at Clonshaugh Road on the same date.
Defence barrister Annette Kealy said the defendant’s solicitor rang the defendant about his court appearance but got a foreign dial tone and no answer.
She asked Judge John Cheatle if he would adjourn the case in the defendant’s absence and she has no further instructions.
However, instead of adjourning the case Judge Cheatle issued a bench warrant.
