Green Party’s plans to ‘future-proof’ Swords
A local Green Party representative is hosting a public meeting this Thursday on ‘future-proofing’ the development of Swords and Donabate.
Local Green Party representative, Mark Henry hosts the public meeting at the Carnegie Court Hotel in Swords on Thursday, November 16 at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome to attend.
Entitled, ‘Future Proofing our Community’ the meeting will seek to explore the choices ahead for local communities and speakers will include Dr. Cara Augustenborg of UCD & Friends of the Earth, Ruth Buggie of the Sustainable En- ergy Authority of Ireland, and Eamon Ryan TD, the leader of the Green Party.
Mr Henry explained why he organised the meeting, saying: ‘With so much change happening around us, we need to discuss how we can make our community a safe and enjoyable place to live for the next generation,’
The Green Party representative added: ‘We will need to make changes to our homes, in transport, in energy, and in the food that we eat.
‘This meeting is a wonderful opportunity to hear from experts in the area and to consider what it means for us in Swords and the surrounding communities.’
