Bumbleance pays a visit to Naul National School

Fingal Independent - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

PUPILS from Naul National School got the check to check out the Bumbelance, the country’s and the world’s first interactive ambulance for children.

Third and fourth class pupiles got to see the inside of the Bumbleance when it arrived down to the school recently.

Bumbelance is specifically designed for and tailored to children.

It ensures the safe transportation of sick children between their home and paediatric hospitals, hospices, national treatment centres and respite centres nationwide. They also provide a unique and vital service through their Angel Trips, the final journey a child takes on earth before he or she grows their Angel Wings. Bumbelance was created by Tony and Mary Heffernan, who lost their children to Battens Disease, a rare and fatal genetic disorder of the brain.

They saw the need for this critical service to ensure that no other family would have to deal with the hardships of transporting sick, critically ill and children with life limiting and threatening conditions.
