Plans to reduce suicide in Fingal
THE HSE is inviting your views on a new strategy to reduce the level of suicides in Dublin North city and county.
‘Connecting for Life Dublin North City and County’ is currently being developed and will set out specific local actions to deliver the seven goals of the National Strategy on reducing levels of suicide.
The development of this plan is being led by the HSE and supported by an inter-agency Steering Group representing the local statutory and non statutory agencies involved in suicide prevention in the area. This is a local plan and local people are invited to have their say about what should be included.
Speaking about the consultation process which is underway Sara Maxwell, Resource Officer for Suicide Prevention said ‘The HSE is undertaking a consultation process in relation to a local suicide prevention action plan.
‘We want as many people as possible to have a say in what should be included in the local suicide prevention action plan. We want local input on what is working and not working in relation to preventing suicide and self harm, to identify any gaps in service delivery or service access and to inform the actions that will be included in the plan.’
The aim of the Consultation process is to gather the knowledge and views of the public and service providers in Dublin North city and county; to establish what is working and not working in relation to preventing suicide and self harm and identify any gaps in service delivery or service access. Alongside a review of the evidence base, this information will inform the actions that will be included in ‘Connecting for Life Dublin North City and County’, due to be launched in early 2018.
Members of the public are being urged to have their say and to fill out the survey which is available at http://www.connectingforlifedncc.ie/
The survey will close on the 17 th of November 2017.
