Four acts lined up for Malahide Castle and there could be two more
AT least four major acts will rock the walls of Malahide Castle this summer with two more dates currently under negotiation, the Fingal Independent understands.
The Cure on June 8, George Ezra on June 21, and Lana Del Rey on June 22 have all been confirmed for Malahide Castle next year, in the last few days.
However, the Fingal Independent understands a fourth big name will be added to that list very soon, in the shape of former Oasis songwriter, Noel Gallagher.
Gallagher’s appearance will no doubt spark comparisons with last summer’s gig at Malahide Castle by his brother, Liam and the famously warring brothers will no doubt want to stir that rivalry up to see who emerges ‘king of the castle’.
But the Malahide Castle gigs are unlikely to stop at four dates, the Fingal Independent understands.
At least two more dates are under negotiation at the moment but the names of the acts involved are yet to emerge.
The series of summer gigs next year is set to cement Malahide Castle’s return as a major outdoor venue for concerts and marks the third year of that return.
With The Cure, George Ezra, Lana Del Rey and Noel Gallagher all lined up to play there next June, there is something for everyone in this series of concerts which will cater to a wide range of tastes. It promises to be a musical summer in Malahide in 2019.
