Council reports on delays in Broadmeadow Way application

Fingal Independent - - NEWS -

THE council has issued a report on the progress of the Broadmeadow Way.

Prompted by a question from Cllr David Healy (GP), the council reported: ‘In May and June of this year a review of the environmental assessment and engineering documents for this project was instigated, in light of recent legal judgements relating to environmental legislation. One judgement in particular, which resulted in increased requirements for Appropriate Assessment, was found to be of considerable relevance to the Broadmeadow Way application and the documentation that had been prepared to date. Further more detailed assessment of these judgements has been undertaken over the summer and has resulted in a number of items being identified that require amendments to minimise risks to the scheme planning application.’

The council reported: ‘This work is ongoing.’ Estimating how long it will take to get over this delay and submit the planning application for the project, the council reported: ‘It is the intention to submit the application to An Bord Pleanala in Q4 2018.’
