Cancer Support Group hosts coffee morning

Fingal Independent - - COMMUNITY NEWS -

BALBRIGGAN Cancer Support Group held a coffee morning recently to raise funds for its much-needed services.

The group is a voluntary based organisation which caters for patients, carers and relatives affected by a cancer diagnosis, who may be seeking information, advice or support.

Speaking to The Fingal Independent, Chairperson Cora Nelis said: ‘It was great to meet people who had never been in before, to let them know the services we provide.

‘People were very generous, but it’s more about making people aware of the service. Generally what happens with these coffee mornings is that you’ll have someone come up a couple of weeks later who wouldn’t have come up beforehand, so it just makes them aware of what we do.’

The group offers a ‘meet and greet’ service every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday for anyone who’s had a cancer diagnosis, or for family members who may be struggling.
