EARLY goals by Liam Foley and Sean Guiden lifted St Sylvester’s to second in group one of the Minor A Championship behind Ballyboden Road as they easily accounted for Na Fianna on a 4-11 to 0-7 scoreline at Mobhi Road.

Foley hit 2-0 and Guiden 1-6 over the hour in what was a very good team display.

A goal 20 seconds into the game from midfielder Donal Cotter laid the foundations for Skerries Harps’ 1-9 to 0-10 win over Clontarf in their group two clash in St Annes on Sunday morning.

Equally crucial in that game, though, was Cormac Rock’s 12th-minute penalty save.

Despite trailing by three points for a good part of the game, Clontarf were hard to shake off and would eventually draw level, 1-6 to 0-9, before points from Rob Delaney, Killian Mcginnis and Dublin minor Adam Fearon saw Skerries home.

In the Minor C Championship, St Pat’s Donabate completed their group four campaign with a hard-fought 1-15 to 0-17 win at home to St Catherines, with Evan Brooks grabbing the goal. They now go into the shield competition.
