Paddy Blues granted permission for develop new smoking area

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

Sean Doyle Entertainments Ltd has been given the go-ahead to develop a smoking area to the rear of Paddy Blues pub on North Parade in Gorey.

The company was previously refused retention permission several times for a beer garden at the popular late night venue because of the potential for disruption to local residents.

The company finally proposed erecting a smoking area, with ancillary works and acoustic barrier measures.

In granting permission, the council set specific noise level limits during certain hours, and said the beer garden should only be used between the hours of 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The company is proposing to establish a smoking area only and to disuse the remainder of the beer garden. It plans to build up the wall around the smoking area for privacy and noise protection, and to construct a lobby to prevent noise pollution from the bar area.

It will also introduce sound restrictions within the bar, and remove audio and visual equipment from the exterior.
