Wells House set to host antiques fair
The popular two-day antiques fair returns to Wells House and Gardens this weekend.
Antiques dealer Chantal Fortune from Bray is curating the third annual antiques fair in the big house this Saturday and Sunday, September 16 and 17, from 1 p.m.
She has planned a combination of displays and demonstrations. Among the attractions will be a selection of dealers selling their wares, including jewellery, silver, china, collectibles, furniture and carpets.
An old rivet repaired china collection will be on display with a craftsman Mark Fortune demonstrating how it was done. In the Great Hall, there will be furniture restoration demonstrations by Maurice Molloy of Molloy Restoration; and, on the Sunday, painting conservationist Pearl O’Sullivan will hold a painting restoration demonstration.
Chantal will be doing free identification and valuations throughout the weekend.
Entry to the fair is €3 per person and an €8 per car entry fee to the grounds applies.
