Gar­diner Grain scoop top award in Gal­way

THE HARD-WORK­ING peo­ple at Gar­diner Grain have picked up a na­tional award for re­tail­ing an­i­mal health sup­plies.

They re­cently won ‘In­de­pen­dent Store of the Year’ at the All Star An­i­mal Health Awards in the Clay­ton Ho­tel, Gal­way.

They en­tered the Gorey store at Mil­lands for the com­pe­ti­tion and were de­lighted to be short­listed in the agri-health cat­e­gory for in­de­pen­dent store of the year, for stores with un­der ten peo­ple em­ployed.

‘We were thrilled to be se­lected,’ said Noreen Kelly of Gar­diner Grain. ‘We beat off stores from all over the coun­try. To sell an­i­mal health sup­plies you have to do cour­ses and hold qual­i­fi­ca­tions.’

To cel­e­brate, they are invit­ing their cus­tomers to join them in Carnew on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 12; in Cool­gre­any on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 17; in Gorey on Thurs­day, Oc­to­ber 26; and in Avoca on Fri­day, Novem­ber 3. A bar­be­cue will be served un­til 1 p.m. Re­fresh­ments will be served all day, and there will be in­for­ma­tion on ser­vices and prod­ucts, and spe­cial of­fers.
