Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

PETTITT’S SuperValu, Gorey, was recently nominated for top honours at the National Q Mark awards. The Q Mark awards are known as the business ‘Oscars’ for the highest standards of quality and excellence.

The Gorey supermarket was nominated for a prestigious Q Mark for hygiene and food safety. This nomination means the Gorey store was in the top 6.75 per cent of all audits completed by the EIQA (Excellence Ireland Quality Association) on the island of Ireland. The Q Mark is awarded only to companies which achieve the highest standards of quality and excellence.

‘As a food safety champion, it is a great achievement to be nominated for the Q Mark awards. It gives all staff the recognition they deserve for the hard work they put in everyday to maintain our standards’ said Shóna Fagan, Food Safety Champion.

The black tie ceremony saw over 450 people representing 135 companies converge at the Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road, in Dublin.
