Case sent to Cir­cuit Court

A MAN ac­cused of a rob­bery at Brooks’ Su­per­mar­ket, Seamount, Cour­town, on April 12 last has had his case sent for­ward to the Cir­cuit Court for trial.

Ryan Kennedy (20) of 68 Chapel­wood, Kil­muck­ridge was ac­cused of rob­bing Danielle Byrne of €600 and was also charged with crim­i­nal dam­age to a mat­tress in a cell at En­nis­cor­thy Garda Sta­tion on the same day.

When the case was called, Sgt Gary Raynor said that the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions had di­rected that the case should be sent for­ward to the present sit­ting of the Cir­cuit Court.

Judge Haughton warned Kennedy that if an al­ibi formed any part of his de­fence, he had 14 days to fur­nish the DPP with de­tails, be­fore mak­ing the or­der send­ing the case for­ward for trial.
