Get a free blood pressure test at Lloyds Pharmacy

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

THE team at Lloyds Pharmacy on Esmonde Street in Gorey last week held a Heart Health Day in store, one of its quarterly blood pressure measurement days.

While the day placed focus on the blood pressure screening drive, Lloyds Gorey pharmacist Peter Conry explained that free testing is available in store at any time.

‘The blood pressure test takes just five minutes,’ he said, adding that consultations can last a little longer if people have specific health related questions. The test is carried out in the consultation room, a private space away from the public area.

‘Ideally people will roll up their sleeve so we can do the test, but we can do it through a thin layer of clothing,’ he said. ‘We do a few readings just to be sure.’

‘We also advise people to be as fit as they can be and to eat well,’ he said. BMI screenings are also available at no charge.

If a blood pressure test reveals any cause for concern, referrals are then made to the GP.
