Had cocaine worth €100

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

COCAINE user Darragh Corrigan (23) from Kyle, Oulart must wait until after Christmas to discover whether or not he will have a criminal record.

Appearing at the District Court in Gorey, the accused accepted that he had €100 worth of the drug at Littermore, Kilmuckridge on June 17.

He was a passenger in a car at the time.

The court was told that Corrigan, who came to court with his mother and with solicitor Caitriona Walsh, had no previous convictions.

Ms Walsh sought to avoid a conviction being imposed and said her client had already received a ‘heartfelt earful’ from his mother since she learned about the prosecution earlier in the week.

However, Judge Gerard Haughton was not impressed when the defendant said he was not sure whether drug screening would show up clear.

The case was put back for finalisation on January 4.
