Walking trails at Ramsfort now open

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

Walking trails through the woodlands at Ramsfort in Gorey are now open to the public.

The Gorey Municipal District councillors were informed in September 2016 monthly meeting that Coillte had given permission for the development of trails at its wood at Ramsfort.

The Council’s Gateway team already has experience in developing trails at Courtown Woods and the Askamore looped walk and they undertook as much of the work at Ramsfort.

Cllr Malcolm Byrne has welcomed the opening of the walking trail in Gorey as an ‘additional amenity for the area which adds to Gorey’s attractiveness as a town’.

The woods have already seen great use from walkers in recent days.
