SENIOR librarian Celestine Murphy gave a great helping hand to people last week who are trying to research their ancestors and find their roots.

The ‘Who do you think you are?’ one-on-one clinic on family history in Gorey Library was a packed programme with genealogy specialist Celestine.

‘Each individual had a 15-minute slot with Celestine,’ said librarian Barbara Nolan. ‘It was non-stop all day for her.’

The clinic was aimed at people who are trying to look for information on their ancestors or can’t go any further with their research and need help.

‘Celestine showed them the supports which are available online,’ said Barbara.

An information package was given to everyone who attended which gave them guidelines and pointers on how to research their family roots.

‘We will have a follow-up session in a month to see how they are all getting on,’ said Barbara. Everyone was really happy with the programme and it got a great response.’
