PEACE COM­MIS­SIONER ROLE FOR CLLR MAL­COLM BYRNE

CLLR MAL­COLM BYRNE has been ap­pointed as Peace Com­mis­sioner for county Wex­ford.

Min­is­ter for Jus­tice Char­lie Flana­gan TD an­nounced last week Cllr Byrne would be tak­ing the vol­un­tary role that al­lows him to take statu­tory dec­la­ra­tions, wit­ness cer­tain doc­u­ments and sign cer­tain state cer­tifi­cates.

Cllr Byrne said he will be happy to as­sist any in­di­vid­ual or or­gan­i­sa­tion who may re­quire the as­sis­tance of a Peace Com­mis­sioner in the fu­ture.

‘I am very grate­ful to the Min­is­ter for this hon­our,’ added Cllr Byrne. ‘From time to time, peo­ple come to me look­ing for forms to be signed and I usu­ally help them find another Peace Com­mis­sioner, now I will be happy to sign for them.’
