Sun shines brightly for Wells House teddy bears picnic

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

WELLS HOUSE, in Ballyedmond, was the ideal setting for a Teddy Bears’ picnic recently which proved to be a resounding success.

The fact the sun shone brightly added greatly to the enjoyment of the day as children were able to wander over to Goldilocks, at the fountain, or the Electric Zoo - which saw them drive around a dedicated area on motorised fluffy ‘animals’.

Over 850 car loads of visitors arrived at the iconic landmark site for the picnic and speaking to this newspaper, the house’s Events Manager, Maria Walsh, said everyone involved in organising it was delighted with the turnout.

‘There was face-painting as well which was very popular along with other activities,’ she said.

The house will play host to another event on July 8, called Wells Enchanted, which will see characters like the Mat Hatter in attendance and visitors will also get to go on a fairy hunt.
