U-15s had a ball on trip to Scot­land

WEX­FORD F.C. Un­der-15s and the Un­der-11 Acad­emy lads, both man­aged by Mark Do­ran, took ad­van­tage of an op­por­tu­nity for a trip over the water to Scot­land on the May Bank Hol­i­day week­end to play some good op­po­si­tion.

The lads flew over Fri­day and, not long af­ter they landed, the Un­der-15 side found them­selves in ac­tion against Hutchi­son Vale, a feeder club for lo­cal side Hiber­nian.

They went 4-0 up be­fore tired legs saw them pegged back to 4-3, but a good run-out was had by all.

Con­fi­dence was flow­ing as Wex­ford’s youngest League of Ire­land side played su­perbly in a 10-0 rout of lo­cal un­der-age strong­hold Spar­tans.

Mean­while, the Un­der-11 acad­emy also got game ac­tion, win­ning two of their three games.

As well as per­form­ing on the pitch, the trav­el­ling party took in the Hearts ver­sus Celtic game at Tynecas­tle.

They were also treated to a tour of Hiber­nian’s Easter Road ground be­fore fly­ing back home af­ter a fan­tas­tic three days on Sun­day evening.

The Un­der-15 side are ar­guably the most ex­cit­ing of the Wex­ford teams at the mo­ment, and they will play at home twice this week, on Wed­nes­day evening against Car­low/Kilkenny and at the week­end against Cobh Ram­blers.
