STEPHEN DUNNE (33) of 12 Hill­crest Drive, Gorey passed up the op­por­tu­nity to avoid a drugs con­vic­tion.

A long­stand­ing case dat­ing back to Sum­mer­hill, En­nis­cor­thy in May of 2014 was fi­nally dis­posed of on July 5.

Judge Kevin Staunton was re­minded that de­tails of the of­fence were given to the court on a pre­vi­ous oc­ca­sion.

Dunne was told then that a con­tri­bu­tion of €150 to the Corn­mar­ket Project would head off a con­vic­tion.

How­ever, solic­i­tor Gar­rett Fitz­patrick con­firmed that his client was not present and that the money had not been paid.

A fine of €150 was handed down with the con­vic­tion.
