Surprise party for Jimmy to mark 60th

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

Jimmy Finn of Willow Park was all set for a quiet evening to celebrate his 60th birthday, but his family and friends had other plans in mind.

They surprised him by inviting a much larger crowd of 150 to the Loch Garman Arms on Saturday evening for a party to celebrate the major milestone.

Also enjoying pulling the wool over his eyes were wife Bernie, daughter Amanda and son Aaron, who found it hard to keep the secret to themselves.

‘He was bombarded by everyone and in shock with all the people in the Loch Garman Arms,’ said Amanda. ‘He was overwhelmed and delighted to see everyone make such an effort for him.’

The Loch Garman Arms put on a delicious spread of food for the large crowd. Afterwards, the family brought out a specially made cake for Jimmy.

A great evening of chat and musical entertainment by Dessie Doyle and Mick Redmond was enjoyed by all. The birthday celebrations continued into the early hours of the morning in Jimmy and Bernie’s house.

Jimmy was showered in gifts, cards, scratch cards and much more which he is very grateful for. He will enjoy his much needed rest after the birthday party.
