Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

GOREY native Billy Duncan and partner Ashley Kerby from Canada embraced their roots by having an old Scottish traditional wedding. THE pair met in Italy nine years ago through a Pipe Band weekend. At the time, Billy played with the Arklow Pipe Band, while Ashley, who lived in Scotland at the time, was part of a Scottish Pipe Band.

NOW living in Canada the last six years, it turns out after some extensive research the Duncan and Kerby families both originate from Scotland. ‘ASHLEY moved back to Canada six years ago, and Billy followed her over,’ said Billy’s father Billy Duncan. ‘They have been together since meeting in Italy which was nine years ago.’ THE couple got married, during an outdoor ceremony, on Saturday, September 15, in Canada. Billy, his father, and the best man and grooms men all dressed up in old Scottish wedding clothing for the ceremony.
