Disqualified for two years

Gorey Guardian - - NEWS -

A 26-YEAR-OLD man banned from driving for two years on conviction for lack of motor insurance had already been off the road for the past ten months, his solicitor told the District Court.

Defendant Jack Freegrove from 19 Beachside Drive in Courtown accepted that he had no valid cover in place when stopped at a checkpoint in Riverchapel last November.

His licence was not in order as he held a learner permit and had no qualified driver with him at the time – fine €100.

The lack of insurance drew a fine of €400 and the two year disqualification.
