Burglaries on the rise in north Wexford

- By SARA GAHAN

Gorey Gardaí have reported a worrying increase in burglaries in north Wexford in the past two weeks, with numerous businesses broken into as well as a primary school and a house.

A spokesperson from Gorey Garda Station said a house in An Bán housing estate in Courtown was broken into, a property in Seamount, Revive Hair Salon in Ballinatray and a second attempted break in within two weeks at Star of the Sea National School in Riverchapel.

It was reported that a large amount of property was taken from the house in Seamount, while a small amount of cash was stolen from Revive Hair Salon.

It was stated in last week’s Gorey Guardian newspaper that My Fitt Gorey, Transport Café on Arklow Road and an attempted break in at Star of the Sea National School occurred the week previous. A small amount of money was taken from both business premises, while nothing was stolen from the school.

Gardaí are appealing for any information in relation to the burglary at Seamount and are asked to contact Sgt Margo Kennedy at the station on 053 94 30690.
