Two-year ban for no insurance

A two-year driving ban was recorded against Brian O’Neill (26), The Coolin, Saint Aidan’s, Ferns, when his case was dealt with at the District Court sitting in Wexford.

The motor insurance prosecution was taken by traffic corps member Garda Cathal Burke who was manning a speed check at Tinnacross on October 15 last.

He stopped the car driven by O’Neill at around 5.15 p.m. that evening and he required the accused to produce insurance documents at the station of his choice.

The paperwork was never shown and case went ahead in the absence of the accused, who was fined €400 as well as being disqualified for two years.
