Avengers: Infinity War

Hot Press - - Reviews -

Good news for those fearing that Avengers: Infinity War and the upcoming sequel might mean the end of some of their favourite characters – or those who just want to see more of their beloved superheroes. Rumours are floating around that Disney is looking to bolster its streaming service with limited series featuring characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Unlike the Netflix shows, which go for street-level action with affordable names and eschew performers from the movies, the aim for these new series would be to have stars like Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen starring, and higher budgets to replicate the visual standards of the films. Nothing’s confirmed yet, but fingers crossed!

WaterTower Music has announced that an Irish star will be appearing on the soundtrack to Smallfoot, the new animated film about a Sasquatch who has to go on an epic quest to prove to his village that humans exist. The soundtrack features the Niall Horan song ‘Finally Free’ playing over the end credits, plus original new songs written by Wayne Kirkpatrick and Smallfoot director Karey Kirkpatrick. Several are also performed by members of the film’s all-star cast, including Zendaya, Common, Channing Tatum and James Corden.

Marvel have dropped the first trailer for Captain Marvel, and it opens with her falling onto a Blockbuster Video store, so I guess the movie really does take place in the ’90s! The trailer shows Brie Larson as the quasiamnesiac Captain trying to piece together memories of herself as a girl, a pilot and a superhero, as aliens like an evil-eyed Jude Law embark on some nefarious schemes. Samuel L. Jackson appears as a young Nick Fury, and Clark Gregg also appears as fan favourite Phil Coulson. It’s due for release in March 2019, and we can’t wait.
