CHOCO­LATE HAZELNUT PRO­TEIN OATS

Dessert for break­fast? Erm, yes please! If you’re like me and love some­thing sweet for break­fast, this choco­latey, nutty, pro­tein-rich oat­meal recipe is the per­fect cure for any sweet crav­ing. Not only does it taste amaz­ing, but it is also low in sugar, high in fi­bre and packed full of pro­tein.

SERVES 1 50g oats 1 tbsp ca­cao or co­coa pow­der 250ml al­mond milk or water 1 tbsp choco­late pro­tein pow­der (see PS, right) hand­ful of hazel­nuts, roughly chopped 1 square 85 per cent dark choco­late, grated

1 Com­bine the oats and ca­cao pow­der in a mi­crowave­able bowl and then pour in the milk or water. Mi­crowave for 2-3 min­utes un­til cooked. Stir. 2 Add the pro­tein pow­der and stir well, adding more milk or water if nec­es­sary. 3 Sprin­kle the chopped nuts and grated choco­late on top be­fore serv­ing.

PS… The pro­tein pow­der may be omit­ted en­tirely or sub­sti­tuted with ex­tra ca­cao pow­der, though the dish will be­come less pro­tein-rich.
