It doesn’t go to the stom­ach, it goes to the heart. I love this slo­gan – it’s so true! I’ve al­ways had a sweet tooth and I love to fin­ish my evening meal with some­thing sweet – even if it’s just a few squares of 85 per cent dark choco­late. One of the rea­sons I ad­vo­cate a bal­anced diet is be­cause not al­low­ing flex­i­bil­ity can lead to ex­tremes of re­stric­tive-eat­ing prac­tices fol­lowed by pe­ri­ods of binges and the feel­ings of guilt that fol­low. Al­though we need to eat well for our health and our body, we also need to eat for our soul – and that in­cludes dessert! My recipes here are de­signed to nour­ish both body and soul: not only are they de­li­cious, but they’re made from whole­some in­gre­di­ents with min­i­mal added sugar.
