HOW TO MAKE FRUIT VINE­GAR

If you want to clean with vine­gar, as I of­ten do, but are wor­ried about your house smelling like a fish-and-chip shop, try this fruit-in­fused al­ter­na­tive.

2 STEP TWO Add the peel of a cit­rus fruit (such as lemon, lime, or­ange or grape­fruit) and a few sprigs of mint or a cin­na­mon stick – which­ever com­bi­na­tion you find most ap­peal­ing.

4 STEP FOUR Use a strainer to ex­tract the scented vine­gar liq­uid and pour it into a fresh jar or empty spray bot­tle.

1 STEP ONE Pour clear vine­gar into a glass jar un­til three quar­ters full.

3 STEP THREE Leave it in a cup­board to in­fuse for around a month.
