Calm under THE COLLAR

How not to put a hair out of place this winter

Irish Daily Mail - YOU - - BEAUTY BUZZ -

For most of us who have long hair – and if you’re not there yet, try L’Oréal Paris Elvive Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo and Detangling Conditioner (€5.99 each, superdrug.com), which claims to ‘save your centimetres’ – the tucking of one’s lengths in collars and winter scarves is a recipe for a knotty disaster. On planet fashion, however, it’s a ‘look’ – as the Tibi A/W 17 show (left) proved beyond doubt. But to counter the murder of brushing and dematting, you’ll need a few tricks up your sleeve. Between shampoo and conditioner, leave the genuinely transformative Daniel Galvin Smoothing & Detangling Mist (€20, danielgalvin. com) in hair for five minutes, while combing it through with The WetBrush Original Detangler (€13.50, victoriahealth.com). If you’re after a ‘faux bob’, tie long hair into a loose pony before tucking it into your coat – but skip standard elastic bands. Instead, wrap Evo Mister Fantastic Hair Bungee around hair to avoid snagging (€8, evohair.com). Tie it, tuck it and face the wintry world with new resolve. The bonus of the tuck is that it keeps the chill off your neck, too.
