If your wardrobe con­sists of so much more than throw­away high street pieces, then you’ll ap­pre­ci­ate the work and in­deed the time that goes into de­signer Edel Traynor’s pieces. Her de­signs are hand­crafted with an en­vi­ron­men­tal con­scious­ness and strike the per­fect bal­ance with clean ar­chi­tec­tual lines and min­i­mal­ist forms. The fo­cus, she says, is ‘an al­ter­na­tive to fast fash­ion and buy­ing huge quan­ti­ties ev­ery week’. Traynor spent a lot of time in London work­ing for Ir­ish de­signer Danielle Romeril, be­fore launch­ing her own la­bel through fash­ion in­no­va­tor Ruth Ní Loin­sigh’s Ate­lier 27 in­cu­ba­tion space.
