TROPICAL AQUARIUM

‘I WANTED to do a smaller piece featuring something that had organic forms — animals or plants. Years ago I worked in a garden centre that had a fish shop attached. I didn’t really enjoy working with fish but I wanted to draw on that experience and turn it into something nice. So I drew upon the knowledge that I had from working with the fish. My first challenge to myself was to create a fish tank that looked so real nobody could immediately tell it was made from Lego. A person could walk by it and think it was a real and people who see this often don’t realise that the tank itself is made out of Lego. The fish, gravel, pump, filtration system, backdrop are all made out of Lego. Best part? There is no need to clean it. All they eat is Lego fish food!’
