Irish Daily Mail - - It’s Friday! - LINDA MAHER

SITTING in the penthouse suite of Dublin’s Spencer Hotel, I’m looking on in awe as the entire annals of the Disney empire are unveiled before me. From classic movies to recent action hits and everything in between, it’s all now available at your fingertips.

We’re here to get a first look at the DisneyLife app and I have to admit, it’s seriously impressive. There are two children being introduced to it with us and it’s as big a hit with them as it is with the adults in the room.

It’s designed to be used by families and each user can set up their own profile, which will not only allow them to keep up to date with their own viewings but also alerts them when things of interest are added. I imagine Elsa from Frozen and Buzz Lightyear will be among the most popular. When you choose your character, your personalised content is originally based on this choice, but expands as you watch other things. For example, if you choose Elsa, Frozen, the spin-off short animations, the soundtrack, the books etc, will all pop up on your home screen.

The app contains more than 400 animated and live action movies such as Beauty & The Beast, Moana, Pirates of the Caribbean and classics such as Big Business, live streaming of the brand’s TV channels and more than 5,000 box set episodes, 7,000 songs from all of its films plus more than 250 readalong books.

I find it incredibly easy to use and navigate. Also, there are unlimited downloads, for trips long and short. This will offer hours of entertainment for Disney fans young and old
