Girl, three, dies after ‘assault’
A THREE-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted in a south Dublin home at the weekend has died.
The toddler was rushed to hospital with critical injuries on Saturday afternoon after emergency services were called to the house in Shankill. It is believed the girl was living in the home, and had a younger brother.
She was taken to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, where she died on Tuesday night. Prior to this, a woman in her 40s was charged with assaulting the girl, and appeared before Bray District Court on Sunday. She was remanded in custody, and is due in court again today.
