Zimbabwe’s Tsvangirai dies
ZIMBABWE’S main opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has died after a battle with colon cancer.
Elections are scheduled in the country in August, less than a year after former president Robert Mugabe resigned under pressure from the military and the ruling Zanu-PF party. Mr Tsvangirai, 65, pictured, had dominated the opposition since forming the MDC party in 1999.
He had been detained by Mugabe’s government on numerous occasions over his vocal criticism of the regime.
