‘Explosive used’ in carnival blast
BOLIVIA’s defence minister says an explosive was used in a blast that killed at least four people during Bolivia’s Carnival celebrations on Tuesday – the second blast to hit the city of Oruro this carnival season.
Javier Zabaleta told media the explosion caused a hole so big officials do not believe it could have been caused by a gas leak, as originally thought. Three people have been arrested. Mr Zabaleta said officials were trying to determine if Tuesday’s blast is related to another, nearby blast that killed at least eight people on Saturday.
