I’m glad that I dodged that bullet, says Spencer’s ex-girlfriend

HE proposed to his girlfriend Vogue Williams at the beginning of last month during a backstage tour of The Lion King in London.

And now, Spencer Matthew’s exgirlfriend Louise Thompson has finally shared her thoughts on the engagement – and the way he chose to go about it, slamming the way he popped the question as ‘so odd’ and claiming that she ‘dodged a bullet’.

‘I honestly thought he would never settle down!’ Louise admitted to Heat magazine. ‘It’s nice that anyone can change. Although, I find it so odd that he proposed at The Lion King!

‘That would be my worst nightmare, so I’m bloody glad I dodged that bullet.’

The Made In Chelsea stars dated on and off for a number of seasons on the structured reality show, finally ending things bitterly once and for all, after a string of cheating rumours on both parts.

Now Louise, 27, has said her current beau, Ryan Libbey, 27, is the man she will marry.

Louise admitted that things have always been amicable between her and Spencer, 28, since the dust settled on the split but that they don’t really have a relationship any more.

‘Spencer has always been so friendly, and said when he has kids, he wants me to be a godparent, which is cute,’ she revealed.

Of her own situation, she went on to add that she and Ryan – who she has now been seeing for nearly two years – ‘will be together forever’.

‘I’m trying to stop getting worked up about this engagement. Although, I’m a control freak, so he already knows not to [propose] in front of any people and a million miles away from TV cameras.’

In early February, Spencer announced the news of his engagement to Dubliner Vogue, 32, after he proposed at London’s Lyceum Theatre.

Speaking after the special moment, Spencer said: ‘I’ve known Vogue was “The One” for a long time. We’re very happy and in love. She’s my best friend and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with her.’

‘The engagement had to be special, and as our first trip away together was to Disneyland Paris, it felt like the perfect fit.

‘The Lion King is also one of the greatest stories of all time, so I figured that having just had a romantic evening watching it, she’d probably say yes!’
